Music at HBC
Our sanctuary choir meets for rehearsal on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 p.m. This choir sings for the 10:55 a.m. worship service and other special services such as our Advent Celebration and Maundy Thursday, as well as occasional musicals and cantatas.
Our four octave adult handbell choir is made up of eleven members. This group requires music reading skills, and rehearsals are every Wednesday at 6:30. The choir rings in worship every four to six weeks.
Our children's music programs meet on Wednesday evenings as part of our regular Wednesday family night programming. We have two choirs; a pre-k through Kindergarten choir and a 1st-5th grade choir.
Early Worship Band
Our early service is contemporary, and the music is led by a band that includes guitars, bass, keyboards, drums, and a group of singers.
This group serves the community by visiting local assisted living facilities and bringing warmth and smiles to the residents there. Wynette Hoggard leads this group with a system that works for everybody, regardless of musical knowledge. No music reading is required to ring handbells with this ensemble.
Each Sunday afternoon during the school year, our 6th-12th graders join together for youth choir. They sing during worship throughout the year, as well as for our annual Hanging of the Green service.
